New Jersey native Eve Orenstein received her BM from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and an MM from Manhattan School of Music. She has performed the roles of Katisha in The Mikado, The Witch and Mother in Hansel and Gretel, Drummer in Der Kaiser von Atlantis, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Madame Flora(Baba) in Menotti’s The Medium, Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Emilia in Otello, Bessie in Weill’s Mahagonny Songspiel, Lady Sangazure in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Sorcerer, Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, and has covered Ma Moss in Aaron Copland’s The Tender Land, Azucena in Il Trovatore, and Mere Marie in Poulenc’s The Dialogues of the Carmelites. Eve has performed with companies such as Bronx Opera, One World Symphony, New York Metro Vocal Arts Ensemble, Liederkranz Opera Theatre, and Dicapo Opera Theatre and locally with Loveland Opera Theater, Boulder Opera Company and Empire Lyric Players. She was a member of Opera Colorado’s Outreach Ensemble, and was featured in the New Works Showcase at the National Performing Arts Convention in Denver in 2008. Eve was a winner in the New Jersey NATS competition, and in the Feis Ceoil music festival in Dublin, Ireland and she is a member of the National Chorale that performs regular concerts at New York’s Lincoln Center.
Eve is the director of the Colorado chapter of Opera on Tap, a national organization that who presents opera nights at bars, breweries, and other non-traditional venues, and she was profiled in Westword as one of the 100 Colorado Creatives.
